Meet the Co-Founders:
Nicole and Yesi
Angelitos Spanish Immersion Education was born out of both necessity and calling. As two bilingual mothers passionate about raising faith-filled, bilingual children, we recognized a clear gap in our community: there was no affordable, high-quality Spanish immersion program that honored language, culture, and values together. Like many families, we had chosen to be present during our children’s early years and understood the financial sacrifices of single-income households. We envisioned a program that offered a rich, multi-sensory learning experience—one that fostered a love of learning, encouraged creativity and independence, and instilled strong Christ-like character, all within an authentic Spanish-language environment. We also felt called to share this experience with other bilingual and Latino families in our community.
What began as “unofficial” escuelita in our homes with our own respective children naturally grew as friends, neighbors, and fellow mothers joined us. In 2019, we officially opened Angelitos Preschool in the basement of one of our homes with just five students. As enrollment increased, so did our understanding that this work extended beyond education alone. One year after opening, we became a nonprofit organization, Angelitos Spanish Immersion Education, Inc., to better support our students, educators, and the broader community we serve. In June 2023, we outgrew our original space, and by August of that year, we transformed a former storage area at a nearby children’s sports center into our new classroom. Today, in 2025, Angelitos serves more than 30 students through our dual-language education programs, has helped to support over 600 families through our nonprofit efforts and continues to grow in both impact and reach.
In addition to our educational programs, Angelitos functions as a cultural arts and community enrichment center, serving as a welcoming hub for the local bilingual and Latino community. Our facility provides dedicated space for the planning, coordination, and facilitation of cultural arts programming, educational enrichment, and community connection. The primary function of the Cultural Arts sector is to support Latino cultural arts, heritage, and community engagement through activities such as art workshops, music and dance appreciation, storytelling, holiday celebrations, and cultural heritage events. We also coordinate off-site cultural events and performances, collaborate with local organizations and community partners and host organizational meetings and volunteer trainings. Additionally, we plan and carry out donation drives and community support initiatives that benefit other local nonprofit organizations, both on-site and throughout the community.
Our passionate and dedicated teachers and staff are the heart of Angelitos. Collectively, they hold Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, professional teaching certifications, and decades of combined experience in dual-language and educational settings across the United States and South America. All staff members have personal experience raising bilingual children and understand both the challenges and rewards of bilingual education. Representing several Spanish-speaking countries, our team exposes students to diverse dialects, vocabulary, and cultural perspectives, enriching both the classroom and cultural programming we offer.
We are deeply humbled and grateful that God has chosen us for this journey and remain committed to following the path He has laid out for Angelitos Spanish Immersion Education, Inc. We are thankful for the many families, supporters, and community partners who have believed in this mission from the beginning, and we look forward to welcoming those who will join us in the future—as students, staff, artists, volunteers, or sponsors. It is our sincere hope to be a blessing to your life and to our community through education, culture, and connection.
