Angelitos is a 501c3 non-profit organization, deeply rooted in community service and cultural enrichment, with a mission to make bilingual learning and cultural awareness accessible to all families. While we offer Spanish immersion programs for children, the heart of our organization lies in fostering family involvement, supporting underserved communities, and celebrating cultural diversity.
Current & Ongoing Community Involvement
Community Closet
Our on site community closet provided essential items, including clothing, diapers, and school supplies to hundreds of families in need. This initiative directly supports the well-being of families across our area because of our collaboration with VillaMoms Advocacy Group.
Community Events
We host several free community events each year, such as our Easter Outreach or our monthly Spanish Circle Time. These events provide an opportunity for local families to connect through a shared appreciation of the Spanish language and culture.
Community Collaboration
We contract our services to community centers and other non-profit organizations such as CASA, the Lorton Community Action Center and Foster the Family DC. In this capacity, we provide childcare as parents attend training/classes at no cost to the families . In addition, we host a yearly book and PJ drive, specifically to benefit children in foster care.
Celebrations & Cultural Events
Regular events such as bilingual storytime, Villancicos (traditional carols) Clases de Concinar and other cultural festivities bring families together, enriching the community through shared experiences and traditions.
Upcoming Community Projects & Initiatives
Expand our Community Closet
We aim to secure a larger, organized outdoor shed to enhance our Community Closet, currently limited to a single hallway. This closet provides essential items to families in need. Last year, we gave to over 500 families, and a new shed will allow us to serve even more!

Create a Community Garden
We are spearheading the first outdoor community garden in our Title 1 community, a space that will serve as an educational and cultural hub, promoting sustainability and shared responsibility.

Support our local Homeschool Community
To help our older homeschool students, we plan to create a dedicated, age-appropriate learning area. This covered outdoor space, adjacent to the shed will be equipped with heated lamps and will provide a conducive environment for their projects and interactions, year round .

Establish a Scholarship Fund
Thanks to our amazing teachers who volunteer their expertise, time and energy, we have been able to waive the cost for over a dozen of our students. However, our goal is to establish a scholarship fund that will allow us to provide our teachers with a monthly stipend. This will ensure our educators can continue their invaluable work in our classrooms and be compensated for their hard work and dedication!
